Who are we?

 

Bentwater is a primer multi-generational community of approximately 5,000 residents in all most 2,000 single family homes with an additional 850 privately owned buildable lots. We are situated on 1,465 acres located on the North Shore of Lake Conroe adjacent to the Sam Houston National Forest.  With the nearby historic Montgomery, Conroe, The Woodlands and located in Montgomery County (one of the fastest growing counties in Texas), Bentwater is surrounded by a wide range of outdoor activities, entertainment, arts and cultural venues, good shopping and great dinning.

  

Text Box:  Bentwater is a gated master planned community, designed and built in the piney woods along the North Shore of Lake Conroe. The community has activities to suit residents of all ages who come from across the country and around the world with diverse backgrounds, experiences and careers. Bentwater offers over 40 clubs, activities and organizations, a 7+ acre Park-in-the-Meadows with a 3 acre scenic lake, 3 Petite Neighborhood Parks, as well as the Bentwater Yacht and Country Club with three golf courses, a full service Marina on Lake Conroe, a championship tennis facility, two community pools, a sports club, a Country Club with casual and fine dining, a Yacht Club for special dining and special events, and a 32 unit Villa complex for Bentwater guest.  Many of our residents are active volunteers both inside our gates and within organizations across the Greater Houston area.

 

Management, maintenance, and care of Bentwater are the responsibility of the Bentwater Property Owners Association. A Board of Trustees comprised of 3 members (two members appointed by the Developer and one elected by the property owners) and a 5 person Advisory Board of Trustees elected by the property owners, manages the BWPOA in accordance with its by-laws and state statutes. The Board employs a management company to maintain and operate the Association. The POA’s basic responsibilities are defined in legal documents. 

 

Bentwater also has a voluntary Bentwater Civic Association with a nine person Board of Directors elected from and by the Bentwater Civic Association members.  The Civic Association exist at the pleasure of the property owners and its Board of Directors sets its community service mission. This Community Information Portal is sponsored by the Bentwater Civic Association.

Bentwater Civic Association (BCA), which was founded in 1998 as a non-profit volunteer community services organization, whose purpose under the direction of its elected Board of Directors is to inform, coordinate, represent and support our Members and our Bentwater community. Our mission is accomplished through community projects, meetings, maintaining this website and other communications as needed. As a volunteer community services organization, we cooperate, support and work with the various organizations and entities within the Bentwater community.  The Civic Association’s responsibilities are self-defined by the members.
